Tokyo Skytree Price: Ticket Costs & Which Deck to Choose

Tokyo Skytree ticket prices vary by date. Adult web tickets currently start at ¥1,800 for the 350-meter Tembo Deck and ¥3,000 for the Tembo Deck + 450-meter Tembo Galleria.

We visited Tokyo Skytree with our 4-year-old and went to both observation levels. For most visitors, the bigger decision isn’t simply how much Skytree costs. It’s whether the 350-meter Tembo Deck is enough or whether you should pay more to go up to the 450-meter Tembo Galleria.

From either deck, Tokyo spreads out in every direction, and on a clear day you can see Mount Fuji in the distance. Here’s the current pricing, what each ticket includes, and what I’d consider before booking.

Tokyo Skytree Ticket Prices

Tokyo Skytree has two observation levels: the Tembo Deck at 350 meters and the Tembo Galleria at 450 meters.

Current web prices start at the following amounts.

Young children are free: children age 5 and under, plus 6-year-olds who have not yet started school, currently do not need paid admission.

The + matters. These are starting prices, not one fixed price for every date.

The Galleria-only ticket can be purchased after entering the Tembo Deck and currently costs ¥1,400 for adults and ¥700 for children. Unlike the main tickets, Tokyo Skytree says this add-on does not incur the ¥500 counter issuance fee.

Why Does the Tokyo Skytree Price Vary?

Tokyo Skytree introduced dynamic pricing for individual observation-deck tickets on April 1, 2026. Prices are now set by visit date rather than the previous advance/same-day and weekday/holiday structure.

That’s why older Skytree price guides—including the original version of this article—may show different prices.

Check the price for your actual date before booking.

Tembo Deck vs. Tembo Galleria: Which Ticket Should You Buy?

You don’t need the Tembo Galleria to experience Tokyo Skytree. The 350-meter Tembo Deck is the main observation deck and already puts you far above Tokyo.

The question is whether going another 100 meters higher matters enough to you to pay the difference.

Tembo Deck — 350 Meters

The Tembo Deck gives you the main Tokyo Skytree observation experience.

If you’re watching your budget or buying tickets for several people, this is the ticket I’d consider first. You still get the high-rise city views without paying for the highest observation level.

Tembo Galleria — 450 Meters

The Tembo Galleria takes you another 100 meters higher. You can buy a combination ticket that includes both levels or add the Galleria after entering the Tembo Deck.

We visited both levels.

If Tokyo Skytree is likely to be a one-time experience and you want to go as high as the standard observation experience allows, the combination ticket makes sense.

But I wouldn’t automatically pay extra just because there’s a higher deck.

If the experience and city views are what matter, the Tembo Deck may be enough. If reaching the highest observation level matters to you, choose the combination ticket.

Is It Cheaper to Buy Tokyo Skytree Tickets Online?

For the standard Deck and Combo tickets, buying online can avoid the ¥500-per-ticket issuance fee currently added when those tickets are purchased at the fourth-floor ticket counter or ticket machine.

For several paid tickets, that difference adds up.

If you initially buy only Tembo Deck admission and decide you want to continue to the Galleria, you can currently buy the separate Galleria add-on from inside the Tembo Deck — it doesn’t carry the counter fee either. Food, drinks and souvenirs inside Skytree can add to your total, but they’re optional.

How We Bought Our Tickets

This is the one place where the date of our visit matters.

When we visited in 2024, we booked our three tickets the day before. We received a voucher by email and exchanged it at the fourth-floor ticket counter. The process was smooth even though Skytree was busy.

The admission process has since changed. As of April 2026, eligible web-purchased tickets can be used for direct admission by smartphone, so follow the instructions that come with your current ticket rather than our old voucher process.

How Much Are Tokyo Skytree Tickets for Kids?

Children age 5 and under are free at Tokyo Skytree. Six-year-olds who have not yet started school are also currently free. Paid child tickets otherwise cover ages 6–14, while the adult category begins at age 15.

Our daughter was 4, so her admission was free.

That made a difference for us because we visited both the Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria but only needed paid admission for the two adults.

For families with young children, check everyone’s age before calculating your total rather than simply multiplying the adult ticket price by the number of people traveling.

Is Tokyo Skytree Worth the Price?

For us, yes. We visited both the 350-meter Tembo Deck and the 450-meter Tembo Galleria, and I’m glad we included Tokyo Skytree in our Tokyo trip.

The Tembo Deck already gives you the main Skytree observation experience. If you’re watching the budget—especially when buying several tickets—that may be enough.

If this is likely to be your only visit and you want the highest standard observation level, I’d choose the combination ticket. Our 4-year-old entered free, which made the upgrade an easy call for us — that math changes if you’re paying for several older kids.

Whichever deck you choose, checking today’s price takes thirty seconds and could save you the ¥500 counter fee.
