Explore the World of Espionage | International Spy Museum

We got off Lyft ride in front of the museum housed in a unique design building. It was chilly and kind of late for us since we spent a few hours in the Holocaust Museum and we decided to go back to the hotel. Our itinerary was pretty set so we went ahead to explore the world of espionage at the International Spy Museum in Washington DC.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum | Never Again

All I could think of was that they were our fellow human beings, people who could fell the torment, pain, fear, and deepest heartbreak and stress in their lives. The Holocaust Memorial Museum visit was such an overwhelming, profound and sobering experience. And everyone should see it too.

“The term ‘Holocaust’ signifies a sacrifice consumed by fire. More specifically, the Holocaust refers to the systematic state-sponsored killing of six million Jewish men, women, and children, along with millions of others, by Nazi Germany and its collaborators during World War II. The Germans referred to this as ‘the final solution to the Jewish question.'”

Our White House Visitor Center Experience

If you’re not an American citizen, the chances of visiting the actual White House are quite slim. Even citizens need to apply through their State Senator for a visit, and the background checks and approval process can take weeks. However, if you can’t secure a tour of the White House, the next best option is the White House Visitor Center (WHVC). Our group faced the same limitation and decided to explore the WHVC instead. Our WHVC experience was unforgettable and I was glad my parents get to visit and see what we did.

Looking for a hotel that is family-friendly and close to everything without spending a fortune? Our trip to Washington, DC was planned only about two weeks in advance since it was a challenge to adjust our schedules, so we know that it would be an expensive trip, therefore, we are looking for deals and affordable Hotels in Washington DC to minimize the expenses.

The Greater Washington Metropolitan Area is home to 772 hotels with 112,999 rooms (including those located within DC proper). The average hotel price in Washington for a couple is $181. We were traveling as a family of six needing two rooms for 4 nights, so our goal was to stay in a comfortable but affordable place. Surprisingly, there are cheap hotels around Washington DC.

Points for Travel.

To get some returns on this rather overall expensive trip, I aimed to get as many points as possible. I was just approved for a new Chase Ink Business Preferred credit card with a decent sign up bonus, so I charged mostly everything for this trip on the CIBP card, which gives 3x points on travel, among other benefits. Then I went through Rakuten to search for hotel providers with the highest cash back. In Rakuten, I opted to get cash back in terms of AMEX Membership Rewards points instead of cash/check, for future travels. I Brought My Parents to Las Vegas

Las Vegas, often referred to as Sin City, is a vibrant and exhilarating destination, making it an ideal destination for parents and kids alike. So I brought my parents to Las Vegas, Nevada to enjoy some of the plethora of exciting experiences that hopefully they will fondly remember for a long long time! Albeit, without guilt of sin :-).

Meteor Crater in Arizona

Roadtrippers site showed a rather unique attraction in Winslow, AZ that was just within a few mile radius along my general route. I was solo road tripping so I could go wherever and whenever I wanted. So I drove to check out the Meteor Crater in Arizona and to see what the ‘experience the impact!’ was about.

Experience the impact!

The daring call for adventure enthusiasts was written on a big billboard welcome sign that you can’t miss as you approach the Meteor Crater in Arizona site. Continue reading Meteor Crater in Arizona | Planetary Scar

Flying from Mumbai to Agra via Jaipur

The scale tipped in favor of the destination over the journey itself, but in retrospect, they were even. We were flying from Mumbai to Agra via Jaipur and we were the only passengers on the aircraft.

We headed up early in the morning to the airport for the Mumbai – Jaipur – Agra flight, to see some landmarks in India. We would be staying there for few days. I had been so looking forward to this trip since my first time in India. It was exciting to say the least!

Our flight was delayed which was a part of the chain of late flights. It was a relief to finally get on the airplane flying to Jaipur after few hours of waiting. I was visualizing the map of India, and considering how big it was, we would be flying up north for several hours.
